England Trip

For my big summer vacation this year, I went to England and Scotland. I went with my parents and Thatha. We did 5 days in London, then Thatha went to India and we went to Scotland which I will write about in a later blog. After Scotland, we came back to London for another few days.

At London, I saw many great buildings and attractions. For example, I saw the tower bridge and even got to climb up and walk around in it and learn about its how it was built. I wanted to do this because this is where the final battle scene was shot for Spiderman Far From Home movie. I also saw the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. That is when new guards march to the palace, and swap places with the old guards. There were a lot of soldiers marching and there was a band playing too. In addition to this, we went to the Tower of London and saw the Crown Jewels. There were many diamonds and other gems that had been used in royal processions for centuries.

One of my favorite things was the Sherlock Holmes museum which was an apartment on 221 Baker street that was made to look exactly like Sherlock Holmes’s house. We also had a English high tea at hotel called Wolseley, in which they gave us tea and a wide array of mini sandwiches, pastries and scones. Something amazing that we did was the London Eye. The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel that lets you see views of all of London. However, the company that ran it was very disorganized and we stood in line for of over 2 hours until we got on. We also went on a classic double decker bus tour of London which was very fun.

We also went to Stonehenge to see the rocks which was something that I really wanted to do and would recommend. We stayed in 2 places while in London. First, we stayed at an Air B & B that was ok but very close to walk to Tower Bridge which was nice, and later we stayed at a very fancy Marriot hotel in Mayfair. The hotel was in the richest area of London and I saw 3 Ferrari's, 5 Lamborghini’s, and a lot of Aston Martins and Bentleys all in one day. We also went and looked at a Ferrari show room and a Bentley show room, but didn’t go inside. We also went to see Shah Rukh Khan’s London house which was near our hotel.

My favorite part by far was the Warner Brothers Studio, making of Harry Potter. It was an exhibit all about how they made the Harry Potter movies. We got to see the original sets and see how they did some of the special effects. We spent all day there. Another fun thing we did was visit Hamley’s toy store which is the oldest toy store in the world. There were lots of very cool toys there but we didn’t buy anything because it was all overpriced.

In all, this trip was very fun and I can’t wait for the next one! Take a look at the PHOTO Album
