On July 5, 2021 Amma, Baba, Thatha and I went to Pennsylvania. The drive was 3 hours long but that didn’t seem so long after the seven hour drive we had on our last trip. After we got to the hotel we went to take a tour of the Independence Hall which is where the Declaration of Independence was signed. I liked that the tour guide told us about its history in a fun way. After the tour ( and 15 minutes of waiting ) we saw the Liberty Bell. The Liberty Bell was rung to call people to important meetings. It also has a big crack down it’s side. See the pictures of me and the bell. I also bought myself a smaller version of the bell that has a crack and actually rings! Later that day we went to the LOVE sign (which is a symbol of Philly) and I played in the fountains near it. That was the end of my first day at Pennsylvania.
The next day we went to the Franklin Institute which is a museum about science. They had exhibits that taught us stuff about the brain, electricity, and how much pollution we make. They also had a science show about fire, chemistry, and a mixture of both. They were really good and funny. We took pictures with a statue of Benjamin Franklin and then left. For dinner I had my first Philly Cheesesteak. We got two cheesesteaks, one from the first cheesesteak restaurant called Pat’s and one from the most popular one called Geno’s. I liked the one from Geno’s the best. We drove to a new hotel ( that was not nearly as good as the last one ) and ate our dinner and dessert ( Insomnia cookies that we had picked up after the cheesesteaks ) and that was the end of day two.
In the morning we went to the Crayola experience which is a building full of fun crayon related experiences. There they showed us how they make crayons and they allowed us to make fun art! I made two crayon rings, a crayon dog, my own crayon wrapper, and art out of melted crayons. When ever we tried to make something blue something bad happened to it and nothing worked. The blue dog’s mold didn’t completely fill, and my blue crayon got snapped in half ( but I got a new one ). After we had done every activity on every floor we left. We went to a house that we had rented in the mountains and that was the end of day three.
Day four and five were mostly hikes to waterfalls and enjoying the house. We played pool and foos ball there which are two different games. The hikes took us to places where we could see the waterfall. Amma and I even climbed up to the top of the falls! Back in the house, we watched a few shows and then went to bed. That was the end of our final day staying at Pennsylvania.
The next day we drove back to our house. Along the way we stopped to pick up lunch at Red Robin which is a burger chain. We got back to the house in the evening and that was the end of our trip. Even though the vacation was fun I was still glad to go home. But overall I really liked the vacation.
