The first trip of this summer was to Carlsbad, California. I went there to meet my cousins Dominic, Miles, Maverick, Vivienne, Ananya, and Amisha. The first day, we went to the pool and had fun. The next day, we went to Legoland because our hotel gave us a private entrance to it. We went on lots of fun rides like rollercoasters and more. There was one ride that allowed all of us cousins to go on together, even the little ones. It was fun for a bit but then the ride broke down halfway and 2 year old Vivienne got very scared. Legoland was very fun though. The next day, we spent all day in the pool. The day after that, the cousins left for home and we left for Oregon. One of my highlights from California is In and Out Burger which is my favorite food. I had In and Out once every day that we were in California.
In Oregon, first we met Amma’s cousin Malavika and her family for dinner. We went to a town called Portland which had lots of homeless people. Because of this, we were told to park our cars in an indoor lot because it wasn’t safe. We also met with Ananya, Anuska, and Ashwin at the same dinner first. We then went to an Air b&b with them. The Air b&b was in a town called Dundee. The next day, we went to many wineries and then went back to the house. The 3rd day, we went to visit Mount Saint Helens which was an active volcano 🌋. We also had a picnic by a lake and then we went walking and splashing in the lake. After that, we went back to Portland and I bought some books from their famous Powell’s book store. At night, we bought sparklers and flower pot fireworks to celebrate the Fourth of July. We had to do our own celebration because the town didn’t have any. Everybody in town just did their own fireworks. The next day, we went to Anushka, Ananya and Ashvin's home in Seattle and went to a movie theater to see Despicable Me 4. It was good 👍. The day after that, we took a flight back home.
The trip was very fun and I can’t wait to go there again. See the pictures!
