PART 1
For my birthday which was during my spring break, my parents took me on a surprise trip!!! I didn’t know where we were going until I got to the airport when I figured out that we were going to Copenhagen Denmark by seeing a baggage tag. When we got to Denmark, we walked to Nyhavn which is a neighborhood in Denmark which is very pretty. The last time we were at Nyhavn was 11 years ago! We also went on a boat tour there that I slept through because of jet lag. After the tour, I got very good hot chocolate in which you got two sticks of chocolate and you had to melt them in the milk. It was very tasty. In the next few days, we went to a Danish Architecture center and we went to the Royal Danish library in a building called the Black Diamond. We also climbed up a huge tower called the round tower and we saw the changing of the guard in which the palace guards changed their shifts. One of my favorite parts of Denmark was Tivoli Gardens which is a very old amusement park in which we did many rides and we even went on the 3rd oldest roller coaster that was still in use. There was actually a man standing in the roller coaster all the time and managing the brake when we went up and down steep drops and fast! We also saw the Little Mermaid statue and we went biking on the streets. Biking was very fun and because Denmark is a biking city, it felt very safe even though we didn’t have helmets. One of the best parts of Copenhagen was Noma. Noma is a restaurant that won worlds #1 rank 5 times. The food and presentation was amazing and it was a big highlight of the trip. We stayed in Copenhagen for 3 days and after that, it was time to go to the second part of our trip.
PART 2
After we left Copenhagen, we went drive to a town called Billund. When I got to the hotel, I got another surprise from my cousins Vrushank and Vyshak who were also there and had just flown in from Edinburg! They also didnt know they were meeting us so it was a great surprise for all and got captured in a video. See the album for it! We had all come to Billund because that’s where the Lego House was which was surprise for us too! The Lego House is the Home of the Brick with many activities that is located right next to the house of the founder of Lego. The Lego House had many things like a museum about the history of Lego. The museum also had every Lego set ever made cataloged on the computers for you to see. There was also a tree made entirely of Lego bricks and it was called the tree of creativity. It was made with 6 million Lego bricks! The tree went up from the bottom of the Lego House all the way to the roof! There were many activities on each of the floors. You could make a stop motion video, build a person out of bricks that danced, code a robot, and build futuristic transportation with Lego bricks. The Lego house roofs had many open playgrounds too. The lunch place was called Mini Chef and it was amazing. Each item on the menu was represented by a Lego brick. You choose which bricks (food) you want and then stack them on top of each other. You then put it in a machine which orders the food for you. Then a robot hands it to you at a counter. Watch the videos in the album! Lego House was very cool. Next day, we also went to Legoland which is a theme park. Amma, I, Vrushank and Vyshak did lots of rides there. Our favorite ride was the Polar Explorar. It was a new roller coaster for this year which also had a big drop in it. It was very fun. They also had a place called mini land which had large models made of lego bricks of things around the world. We saw the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, and we saw a model of the Copenhagen neighborhood Nyhavn and the Lego House. My cousins got me Lego architecture model of the Lego House for my birthday which I built as soon as I got home. The trip was very fun and I look forward to meeting my cousins again in August.
