STEM Night

My school organized a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) night on February 6th evening where all the grades had a choice to present anything they had built, written, drawn, or experimented.
We could present alone or do a project with a classmate and present. I decided to work on a snap circuit project that was one of my favorites and asked Anjali to join me to work as a team.
We decided to make the circuit for the water alarm using our snap circuit kit.
But both our Amma-Babas added more types of liquids for us to test as a water alarm. We used milk, apple juice, orange juice, oil, maple syrup, water with and without salt to do the same experiment.

At the STEM night, we had so many people come to us to see our experiment  and even try it themselves and read our graph which we had drawn to show which liquid had the fastest and most beeps in 30 seconds when we dipped the wires of the circuit in the liquid. I learnt about good and bad conductors of electricity by doing this experiment.

It took us almost 4 playdates and project dates across one month to come together and complete this which was a nice way to make science fun!
