This year Amma's birthday was quite a celebration! We partied for a whole week and a half. And by we, I don't mean just the three of us. It was the three of us, my friend Anushka and her family, and even Ella and her family from time to time.
There were a few unusual things about the celebration though... for example, we never turned on the lights after dark, but we used a fireplace throughout the day. Everyone wore their coats all the time. Also, we left home twice to stay with other people - once with Anushka and once with Ella. And, most importantly ..while we were leaving there was a LOT of water flowing all around the place.
